ReFresh Your Steps

Sprite Steps Up

Stepping is a percussive dance where your entire body is used as an instrument. (Course, you know this, but we’re just refreshing your memory.) With footsteps, spoken words, hand claps and tight formations, this 90’s emergence of an art form is rising once again.

Make the switch from water to soda (for for a second) and wet your whistle with The Sprite Step Off - the largest national step competition in history. Regionals kicked off in January, and things are really starting to heat up. (Or cool down, in beverage talk.) The Sprite Step Off wants youth across the country to take part in scholarships and community service.

They’re offering fraternity and sorority step teams a piece of a $1.5 million prize pool, and a place in history. Since community service is also an important part of college Greek life, Sprite embraces the Sprite Step Off Service Challenge – a platform that calls upon you to collectively donate 1.5 million hours of community service. (gendancers, see how you can help make a difference at
livepositively.com.)

The competitive tour features live performances by Ludacris, Mario, The Dream, Lupe Fiasco and other celebs. Regional Finals are happening in Baton Rouge, Charlotte, Chicago, New York (holla), Houston and San Fran with Finals in Atlanta.

Sprite Step Off offers the experience to watch an iconic form of self-expression that has been shared by multicultural college students for decades. GFF’s, step it up; visit spritestepoff.com.
