Nikki Prantil is a next gen rising star, who’s up to some pretty cool things. Since 2006, she’s been rockin’ the court with the Philadelphia 76ers Junior and Pre pro dance teams. She’s appeared in The Happening with Mark Wahlberg and commercials for Disney and Comcast. In March, she’s heading south to Georgia to shoot a hip hop instructional video. She loves going to Monsters of Hip Hop, The Pulse and BDC. The 15-year-old is the youngest teacher her PA studio has ever had. Besides dancing with three companies, Prantil, a high school frosh, manages to take all honors courses... and maintain a 4.3 average. “My dream is to attend NYU or Columbia in NYC.” But the accomplishment that really captured our attention was the “Hip Hop for Haiti” fundraiser she organized on February 20th with help from her peers. She donated 100% of the proceeds to the "Save the Children" foundation of Haiti. And... gendancers, she raised over $1,000! It doesn’t stop there. She created Haiti bracelets and raised $300 more. Over 85 kids attended, not to mention NBC news channel 10 featured this fundraising dancing queen on a program called “Your Views” in her hometown. “I think it's important for kids to help other kids... and the best way I know how to do that is through one of my two passions - DANCE!” Psst. Give props to her studio owner who took the lead and is now making Nikki’s event an annual fundraiser for those in need. Moral of the Story: You can do anything you put your heart to. (In a world where we’re all searchin’ for fame and press... this little one got NBC attracted to her good deeds because she went beyond.) |
