Life: National Tour |

|
It’s certainly not a new trend that our peers travel on and off tours with some of the biggest names. But when we have a jet-setter that truly learns from roles to find new paths, they belong in gendance! From friends like Sloan Taylor (ahem Pulse Protege) who’s shakin’ it with GaGa, to Bijan who went to Bollywood - we must give credit when credit’s due. And when it comes to giving rise to those that tour with the Material Girl, a trendy golf clap or GFF stadium wave is in order. This Madonna dancer-turned-actor is so modest. She actually doesn’t consider herself a trendsetter. But we do. Wait till you see what she’s learned and take her tips... your future career is at stake. Yes, Dawn Noel toured with Madonna and she told us this: “I almost wasn’t able to tour with her because she was upset that I wanted to bring my dog with me. I brought her to the dress rehearsal in LA, but NOT the tour. Can you believe she almost didn’t take the job because of separation anxiety from her pooch? (Celebs and their pets!) Needless to say, Dawn’s inspired by anything that’s real art and she doesn’t sit still. “It started with the Spirit national tour. It was great money but I missed company work, so I started dancing with Ballet Hispanico. Then I missed the money. So I hit the road again with Fame the Musical. Then I missed dance. So I performed with Elisa Monte Dance Company and Broadway’s Lion King. I found a balance of doing what I loved and making money. But after I toured with Madonna and J.Lo, I decided it was time for another transition.” That’s when acting came along. Dawn’s landed lead roles in indie films and appeared on TV shows like Glee and Greek. How can you do the same? “Don’t focus on being a star. Focus on the craft and success will come to you. Transitioning to another field isn’t easy, but when you have a need to express yourself, you can do it in any art form.” When you’re feeling like a true trend-setter, go on tour. The Proof is there for you to rise to every occasion... like the Dawn of a new day. |
