Elizabeth Hendrix Burwell has been dancing for 25 years. She often reminisces about her 1st jazz dance to “Thriller”. (She still knows all the moves.) Dance will always have a place in her heart (she’s still actively dancing), but she has a new love: helping people discover their potential through fitness. That’s her way of saying “working out”. Think that’s cool, read on to learn from her fascinating career move. Elizabeth and her husband co-own High Performance NYC, 1of the hottest spots for Big Apple fitness fanatics. Ok, so maybe you don’t want to become a fitness guru. But the real trend here is knowing what to do next. While we wish we could eternally light up the stages, it’s no secret that the lifespan of a professional dancer is short lived. Ponder this… High Performance NYC houses high profile celebs like Sandra Oh and Stevie Van Zandt of Springsteen’s E Street Band. When you’re good at what you do, good things happen. Elizabeth told us a great story about the first time she was star stuck. “I walked into the room and saw my husband boxing… with Matt Damon.” Nice! This dancer knows her stuff and she’s got a line up of trainers that guarantee results. Check ‘em out for yourself:
From her gorgeous Lois Greenfield photos to her metamorphosis into an NYC fitness legend, this dancer knew her direction and focused on her passion. Whether you end up a trainer to the stars or combine your love of dance with your passion for marketing (hey, we did it!), find something that makes you happy… on and off the stage. |
