Spelling Bee Champ? Nope. Just Her Last Name. Dance Champ? Abs.

The LA bug is hitting us hard. We’ve covered the MJ Tribute portrait, DancePlug and there’s more up our sleeves. Today, we discover Jenna Spellman, who’s workin in la la land right now. We had virtual coffee with Jenna to get the latest dish. She told us she gets inspired watching old vids of Fred Estaire, Gene Kelly and Bob Fosse. Her proudest moments are not what you’d think. (They’re not her own work!) Miss Jenna feels good when she watches her kids perform. “I get more excited and nervous for them than when I perform myself!” Now, that’s integrity, gendancers.

Jenna recently booked a Nickelodeon show (give it up for getting slimed) and will premiere in a Disney Promo with Chucky Klapow and 150 dancers on the beach. We begged her to tell us about her latest project, but she pointed her finger and said, “You have to wait, gendancers.”

You’d never know from her bio, but she totally fell off the stage in a mascot costume once. Hey, we laughed with her. This MTV’s ABDC star choreographs for hotshots. Jenna told us that her biggest obstacle was getting over not being picked at an audition because of image. “There’s a 75% chance if you get cut, you didn’t “fit” what they were looking for. You’re not going to be right for everything... just know there are jobs out there for you that you’re gonna love.”
