Meet Dana Moore. We asked her this: “How long have you known Chet, and in that time, how have you seen him change as a choreographer, director and person? What was it like to dance with him?”
I first met Chet Walker over 30 years ago. He was Dance Captain of the Broadway show 'Bob Fosse's Dancin'. Chet was instrumental in my being hired for the show. While in rehearsal with him, I was struck by his generosity, passionate discipline and sheer love of dance.
Through the years we’ve worked closely on many different projects from Broadway shows to his concert dance company, first as 'Jazz on Jazz', eventually entitled 'WalkerDance'. I have had the privilege to witness an enormous evolution in one marvelously talented human being. His growth, fueled and shaped by life experience and risk taking (as a choreographer and as a gentleman), has allowed him grace and self confidence that is deep rooted and infectious.
I would put myself in his hands at any time and know... I would be protected and be finely changed from it.
Wow. You see that, gendancers? Empower yourself to know more about Chet Walker. He is one legend we must follow in our quest for performing. And thanks to Dana, we are inspired even more.
