Step Into The Rockettes Kickline |
||
|
We’ve waited 80 years, but today, let’s kick our legs, pointe our toes, tilt our heads and celebrate the launch of Rockettes.com. That’s right, gendancers, use that Tell Your Friends button because today marks unprecedented fan access to up-close and personal opportunities to pull back the curtain and peek in the lives of the famous Rockettes. Timed perfectly (thanks to Rockette marketing) with the national auditions in NY and LA, the Rockettes.com launch gives us a glimpse into the world of these kickers. It all started in 1925 when the Missouri Rockettes were established. Russell Markert brought the girls to NYC to perform at Radio City Music Hall’s Grand Opening Night. Once the impressario, Roxy Rothafel saw them and loved them. He brought them home to the Big Apple and named them the Rockyettes in 1933. Today, they’re called... well, you know what they’re called, already. So, go. Scroll through vintage photography, gorgeous costume imagery and shop around (we suggest the Rockettini glass set.) And don’t forget to click on their Facebook link to become a fan. (Oh, excuse us, 'like' them.) You can cry with the Rockettes through their physical and mental tribulations of the audition process and laugh with them through their emotional acceptance into America’s #1 holiday production – the Radio City Christmas Spectacular. (Love the part with the mirrors, ladies.) If you’re a wannabe Rockette, you should audition! Since 2001, 41 students from their summer intensive claimed a coveted spot on the Radio City stage. But, why read about the exclusive deets, when you can watch everything unfold right before your eyes. Enjoy this video that our GFF’s at MSG sent especially for you and rush to Rockettes.com to feel the rhinestones shine their way to your laptop. |
