Reza Salazar is a serious actor. His talent has snagged him scenes on shows like Law and Order Criminal Intent, where he got to hold a real gun (unloaded, of course). “Every time we used it, the prop guy had to open it and show it to me, the director and 2 other witnesses to show it wasn’t loaded.” Salazar’s career didn’t start out with such solemn roles. He began performing with his mother as clowns named “Honey and Bingo”. The hilarious duo traveled through 5 countries in South America before arriving in the U.S. He didn’t grow up with a home, longtime friends or even a TV. It was not having those things that gave him confidence to move forward with his career. (Side note to all next gen readers: Having everything is about experiencing what you do and who you are-not so much what you have.) Salazar also advises performers that it doesn’t matter how big or small the job. “If you’re happy communicating something to the world and it comes from your heart, you are heading towards that next level.” MORAL OF THE STORY: Clowning around can lead to some seriously big opportunities. (No joke.) |
