The coronation is final. Lee DeWyze gets the Idol crown. We’re buzzing him on his tele tomorrow, but we did manage to pull some strings to get the behind the scenes lowdown on this shy Chicago-based star. And long before his Idol fierceness, DeWyze’s tunes were making airwaves history. Hit radio station WXRT found it fascinating to play Lee’s tunes from album’s So I’m Told and Slumberland. His band, “Lee DeWyze Band” was formed with Ryan McGuire, Jeff Henderson and Louis Svitek, while DeWyze was signed to indie record label Wuli Records, back in Chicago. As of today, DeWyze is celebrating his championship status with Idol style from interviews to show bookings and a massive amount of public stardom. From his audition of “Ain’t No Sunshine” to “It’s a Beautiful Day”, Lee’s made it past Hollywood week, top 24 and top 2, to number 1, numero uno and solo man of the hour. gendance congratulates Lee and his confidence this season as he proved to the crowd that he was “in it to win it.” The Village Green in Prospect, IL where Lee grew up went wild with fireworks and crowd screams as the singer received his American Idol winning announcement. His comments were: “I’m just so happy, man. I’m so happy. I’ve never been happier in my life.” It's words like this that teach us that it really is a beautiful day when your dreams come true. Those words came from his heart in a moment of surprise, suspense and pure nerves. Not long after his win, U2 came trolling onto the speakers with no pause for a breath... Lee had to go on and sing his final tune. And that’s showbiz folks. As we say goodbye to Simon and end our soiree with American Idol, we at gendance are “so happy” too, with the outpour of support and reader response to this feature in our email magazine. When it comes to being different and creating status for yourself in whatever your dreams may be, we hope that we help you learn from the best. From the masters to the rising stars and with our connex with reality TV, FOX and all the contestants, we are also blessed with this win. Without further ado... enjoy this clip and re-live the excitement of Lee’s winning moment, knowing that you too can achieve your beautiful day when you’re “in it to win it”.
Special thanks to the American Idol press team for this season’s interview series. New surprises from gendance’s Behind the Scenes coming up next! |
