Of Course “We Love You” Bama Boyz

Bama Boyz

When you visit www.thebamaz.com you instantaneously feel this cool breeze of Axe bodyspray/electro-disco feeling throughout your body and begin to “love” these boyz. The trend here is knowing what you want, creating a unique style, and owning it up with passion.

They’ve been described as DJ’s that play instruments and their “music schizophrenia” insinuates tunes with different genres mixed together to produce sounds. Clearly, it works. The Bamaz produced Beyonce’s latest “Why Don’t You Love Me” beat. And sans any free time, aside from traveling and hanging from chandeliers (they really said that) the Bamaz are in the studio with several other artists including, Mya, Solange, T57 and emerging personalities.

It wasn’t always easy for the Bamaz. They worked hard for their spot in pop culture history. Eddie “E-Trez” Smith III, Jesse J. Rankins and Jonathan D. Wells grew up in Alabama, attending Alabama A & M University. In 2003, Mathew Knowles, pioneer of Destiny’s Child, was asked to be the keynote speaker at the A & M talent showcase and leadership seminar. For The Bamaz, this was their “shot” to impress. It worked. The creative marketing tactics and smooth personalities wowed Mathew and not too long after, the Destiny’s Child maven invited The Bamaz to intern for him at Music World Company in Texas. You see that, gendancers. You gotta be in it to win it and being at the right place at the right time does have its advantages.

This internship put the boyz in a situation they’ll never forget. Eddie, Jesse and Jonathan produced original tunes at a night club to make ends meet. It was then, Mathew realized the Bamaz were no joke and their internship led to a production deal.

Today, they’ve produced successful tracks including the centerpiece for Walmart’s Christmas campaign, Nickelodeon’s Wow! Wow! Wubbzy! and the UK’s hit reality show, "Chancers", where the Bama Boyz made their first TV debut. And for all the baby mamas, "Baby Jamz" is something you can pick up. (a.k.a a hip-hop/rhythm inspired toy line for preschoolers.)

With all this success you’d forget that the first time Jesse met Beyonce, he accidentally stepped on her shoes and almost fell. I don’t think she minds right now with her new hit. Check it out. The Bama Boyz newly produced Beyonce vid-on the fly, on stage... which is why they’re our trendsetters this week.
