His Studio Name is What The Kool-Aid Man Says

Seth Stewart

This week’s GFF trendsetter is entertainer, choreographer and teacher, Seth Stewart who launched his career performing alongside Ne-Yo, The Black Eyed Peas and Jay-Z. He’s also graced the silver screen, appearing in Sex in the City and Music and Lyrics (with Hugh Grant and Drew Barrymore). Owing his training to BDC, the Fordham-Alvin Ailey BFA program and the Joffrey Ballet, Stewart has studied hip-hop, musical theater, jazz, lyrical and ballet and now he’s bringing his fancy footwork to students in Jerse.

You might have recognized him starring as “Graffiti Pete” in the Broadway show In The Heights, or you may have seen his gi-normo layout in the middle of Times Square. (He was the founding “poster boy” for onlookers and tourists.)

As of Saturday, July 3rd, Seth left the show. (Hello, did you read last week’s new Ambassador series?) And we’re pleased to bring you the news of his new dance studio location in gendance’s home town, Hoboken NJ, with the headlining name Oh Yeah!- yes, just like the Kool Aid man. And coming soon, he’ll create a green screen film/photography addition called The Pudding Factory. No wonder he left Broadway... this boy’s got goals with radical names to share with the world. And somehow they’re all 80’s related. (Ahem, Oh Yeah!, Kool Aid man, Pudding Factory, pudding pops, Bill Cosby. O.k. now we’re dating ourselves!)

With experience on his side and passion as his drive, Seth Stewart is taking over. Stewart describes Oh Yeah! Dance Studio, as “more personal and laid back than traditional dance instruction studios.” It’s the perfect retreat for those looking to dance simply for fun, as well as for aspiring profs. To learn more, visit ohyeahdance.com, but first read this: Seth leaves Playbill readers and GFF’s with inspiring words. “Dancers are not just dancers, we speak through movement… which sometimes is clearer, more powerful than words.”

For more of his words, check out this week’s Ambassador journal entry.

Oh yeah to you, Seth. We’ll be taking classes soon. Keep an eye out for gendance prof’s shakin’ it in the mirror.
