Hurry! Hot off the presses. It’s Seth’s last journal in
our NEW gendance Ambassador Series:
A Day in the Life Of... Seth Stewart; From Broadway to Business Owner.

A Day in the Life of Seth StewartTuesday night, July 27, 2010 - Funny how time flies. It's been almost a month since I left the show and at times things have not slowed down! We've been promoting like crazy these past few weeks, going to local events and passing out fliers, coming up with new marketing schemes to attract more attention.

But through all of it, I've been working on my own ideas, training myself and trying to gain back the discipline to train in a new style of dance everyday. I'm wanting to be not only more versatile, but great in each style I do. I've always been a jack-of-all-trades, but as I get older I'm realizing I need to focus on and master a few, instead of all. I feel people who succeed are great at one or two things; athletes, musicians, etc. Focusing on one path will get you to where you want to go sooner. Of course it's still important to be versatile, that way you can be ready for anything.

So I'm having fun experimenting again and dancing because I love to dance. I realized it has been somewhat of a meditation for me depending on what mood I'm in as I'm sure dance has been that way for many of you gendancers as well.

On a side note, I just returned from Atlanta where my family had our first family reunion. It was so much fun and definitely needed! It becomes more apparent where I get my entertainment urge. Even my family members who have nothing to do with the industry still sing and dance like it's a part of their daily lives. It's how we communicate, express ourselves, and just make ourselves happy. So it was definitely awesome to spend time with, play, and catch up with my family!

Also while I was down in the ATL, Stepp and I finally booked the 14th St Playhouse Theater for Show-n-Tell The Musical to play from Oct 7th-10th. We spent my last 2 days watching videos of the show to creatively tighten up certain dialogue, songs and spacing. We had meetings with local marketing agencies to promote the show, created a new budget, and the list continues.

The work never ends if you really want your business to be successful. Plus, everyone has their own idea of success. Luckily I feel like I'm finally working towards becoming a better artist and a better businessman. Each day I learn something new, and I'm just trying to soak it all up like a sponge. I'm so thankful I get to work for myself and be my own boss, even though money is slow in the beginning. Everyone should see their goal, and work with reckless abandon to reach it, but still remember to enjoy the journey!

I want to thank Elizabeth Barry and gendance for allowing me to share my stories and my ideas with everyone. I want to thank you for allowing me to be your first Ambassador in the series! You guys are amazing, so thank you!

Until we meet again....

Seth Stewart
