Poetry in Motion
As you know, gendance is a proud sponsor of Arts to Grow, a non-profit who brings after-school and summer classes in the visual, performing and literary arts to young people who have limited access to learning through the arts.
gendancers, Arts to Grow invites you to their Summer Theater Program Final Performance, “Free to Be Me”. (Aww!) After six weeks of learning, students are ready to show off their skills by performing a collection of Langston Hughes poems. Kent Jackman, instructor, chose Hughes’ work because it reflects the African-American heritage of the students today.

Why: These kids bring the written word to life. This event is FREE and open to the public, so come and show your support for the next generation of performing artists.
