DID YOU KNOW...

Game On

The Joystick Master

If you’re one of the millions who spend an hour or two playing online video games, put down your mouse and listen up. Meet Executive Producer and Game Designer at More Than Interactive Games, Jeff Siegel. Their new digital wow-factor, Supple, is the world’s first interactive sitcom. Ladies, you get to play Arin Costello, a young associate editor at Supple - the magazine for Single Urban Professional women. Your daily to-do’s include trying to get promoted to Style Editor, flirt with the cute guy at the office, and shop for the latest trends. In this soap-opera based game, new characters and unfolding drama appear in each “episode”.

But what makes Arin, Hugh and the other characters so real? Dancers, of course. Siegel worked with dancers Ashley Anderson (who plays Arin) and Geo Hubela to bring life (and groove) to his web characters. Geo took on every male role, from the stuck up dude to the store clerk that swings the ‘other way’. By now, you’re thinking, what’s with the light bulb suit? Two words: motion capture. This technology records movement and translates it into the digital forms you see in animated movies and video games, like Supple.

Moral of the Story: Not all gamers are couch potatoes.
