Tony the Circular Power Tiger

Discover Tony Morales

Beginning his career as a professional dancer, Tony Morales was an early practitioner of Gyrotonic at the original White Cloud Studio in NYC. As an artist who frequently suffered injuries, Morales thought that becoming a Gyrotonic teacher would enhance his dancing as well as build his future career. (Smart thinkin’.)

With mentors such as Juliu Horvath and Leni Wylliams, Morales decided to pursue his newfound passion. He opened Circular Power, his very own Gyrotonic studio and today, it’s one of the hottest hubs in NYC for wellness. (Yeah, entrepreneur!) Using similar breathing principals and poses as yoga, with the fluidity of dance and use of machines that make you feel like you’re swimming, Gyrotonic integrates these systems to help align, strengthen and stretch the body. (Ah, we could go for a session, right now.)

Morales is a master at keeping his instruction fresh, fun and applicable to everyday life. Using a variety of equipment, Morales says, “The movements are both circular and linear. Gyrotonic tends to work more on the internal muscle groups because it is so movement oriented.” At the end of each session, you will walk away feeling powerful.

For dancers who are suffering from an injury, don’t be afraid of Gyrotonic. It can be used as therapy by increasing self-awareness and moving energy throughout the whole body. Morales comments, “[You] will feel more fluid, focused and stronger.”

Just ask gendance Ambassador Kat Wildish. She’s a student of Tony’s and she’s in great shape. Is Gyrotonic the NEW Pilates? You decide. Take a class today and let us know.
