Behind the Scenes

Even with their disguise, or shall we timely use the word, costume? Either way, you know who they are. They changed the game and brought dance to the mainstream. (Come on, they’re in a Gatorade commercial with Eli Manning. Does it get any better?) Their impeccable style and innovative look allow these boys to stand out as true next generation trendsetters. Who better to interview for Halloween than the masked men themselves? gendancers, meet the Jabbawockeez as they tell you about their fave Hallow’s Eve memories.

JabbawockeezWhat’s your favorite Halloween candy?
We’ve got a sweet tooth for candy corn, Sour Patch Kids and Nerds.

Yum. What about your favorite Halloween movie?
Anything scary! But we also love Scooby Doo cartoons. Haha.

Right on. Shaggy’s the best… What are you guys dressing up as this year?
Even if it's cheating, we’re going as the Jabbawockeez.

That is cheating, but we’ll let it slide. What do you think is the all-time most unique costume?
Tough question! Hmmm. We plead the 5th.

Boo! Well anyway, it’s always fun to be a superhero. Whose side are you on: Batman or Robin?
Robin! We’re always rootin’ for the underdog.

If someone wanted to dress up as you for Halloween, what would the costume be?
All you need is a white mask, white gloves and a Jabbawockeez tee.

Easy enough. Where you going trick or treating this year?
We’re not because we’ll be performing on Halloween night.

If you weren’t performing and could be anywhere on Halloween, where would you be and why?
A place that is free of ghouls and goblins. Also, a place with a lot of candy.

Have you heard any good Halloween jokes? (keep it clean, please)
Nothing worth hearing, then! Haha.

What’s your favorite Halloween song?
Anything but “Monster Mash”! DJ Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince’s “Nightmare on My Street" is a good one.

What scares you the most?
Ghosts!

You know those people who give pennies instead of candy? Say something to them.
A penny saved is a penny earned!

Way to put a positive spin on those folks. What’s your pick: orange or black?
Both are good colors.

Did you carve a pumpkin this year?
No, we didn't. Just the thought of us with knives and pumpkins is a scary thing.

Are you still scared of the “chh chh chh ha ha ha ha” saying from Halloween? Be honest.
Umm… uhh… Can we plead the 5th again?

Fine, but that’s the last time! JK. Freddy Krueger… does he still scare you?
Only in our dreams!

What’s your favorite Halloween memory?
Last year, when we saw just about everybody dressed up as us! It was scary and exciting at the same time. Exciting because we saw sooo many Jabbawockeez. Scary because we thought there was a show that night and everybody knew about it except us.

NICE! What’s your favorite part from the “Thriller” the music video?
When the three zombies come up from the ground and start poppin’. We could be wrong, but we think Poppin’ Pete and Poppin’ Taco were two of the zombies! Shout out to Electric Boogaloos.

Last but not least… Make up a Halloween poem. One rule: it must include the word dance. Go!

Ho ho ho,
Trick or treat.
No matter the season,
We’re gonna “DANCE” and move our feet!

Don’t you love them even more? This isn’t the last time you’ll be hearing from these cool dudes. Gonna be in NYC for Halloween? The Jabbawockeez will be performing at the NY Knicks Game. If you’re planning on being a Jabbawockeez for Halloween this year, please email us your pics, we’d love to see and share.
