She dressed as Catwoman (way before Halloween) when producing Catwoman: Resolution and her first-ever directorial debut was last week at the Chashama Film Festival in NYC. The Girl in the Red Dress, the altar ego of the main character in Dirty Step Upstage (which is wicked good, btw), gave us the lowdown from her newly released tunes. Rockin’ a red latex dress (last minute costume idea, ladies?), meet our sinfully talented trend maven of the week, Miss Amber Moelter. Not only did she star in and produce this chock full o’ drama cinema, she also composed the original score guaranteed to blow the cobwebs off your speakers. At the premiere of Dirty Step Upstage, Amber took the opportunity to show off her goods and belted out the songs you see below- live to film fest attendees. Her stunt was well worth it because her performance intrigued film buffs. She also scored the title of Best Actress. (Way to take NY by the devil horns.) Just in time for October 31st, we dare you to play these songs at your fright fest. (All written and performed by Amber, except “Who’s the Girl,” by Madonna.) With influences from Nine Inch Nails, Michael Jackson, Evanescence, Rob Zombie, and Ozzy Ozbourne, they provide the perfect soundtrack for bobbing for apples. Spook yourself into a Halloween mood with these eerie tunes for your iPod. (Now downloading for $2.97!): “Disguise” – An upbeat jam with killer guitar solo about how Girl In The Red Dress originated. “(Nothing But My) Heartbeat” – A dreamy anthem for anyone haunted by a former love. Wait till the ghosts come out halfway... “Dirty Step Upstage”- The obvious movie theme song. Hard beats and electric guitar make the dark story of the Girl’s quest for fame pulsate. “Who’s That Girl?” - A French jazz twist on this Madonna classic. Slower tempo with plenty of violin, guitar, accordion, bass, drums, and of course, the voice of the Girl in the Red Dress. If you like the descriptions, listen live here.
