Whether you got to check out Choreographer's Carnival in NYC this past Tuesday night or not, you can’t deny that it’s one of the biggest nights for dancers.  gendance brings you the inside scoop from the host of the show, Bijan Rythmik Williams, who is one of our all time fav’ peeps.

What’s it like to host the hottest choreography showcase? - Exciting! I’m THE voice of New York that night, so I get to run the show. It’s a great place to be on the mic.

Why is Carnival a trend for the next generation of
dance? - It gives dancers the opportunity to get to the next level and it’s an outlet for them to get their OWN choreography on stage and show it off to everyone in the NYC area.

Where else is Carnival rockin’ stages? - Carnival happens once a month in LA, but every 6 months in NYC; so everyone has the chance to get REALLY excited for the NYC show.  We may even go global. There was already a show in London!

Which choreographer stands out the most in your eyes? - Cheryl Murakami always rocks the show. Her choreography is cutting edge, professional, exciting and different.

We know it’s not a competition, but tell us…do all the choreographers and dancers get along? - There’s a pretty good atmosphere backstage. Everyone is focused there is an overall positive vibe.

And just for the record, who is YOUR all-time favorite choreographer? - Wade Robson, hands down. That man is a machine.
