What Makes You Beautiful?

What Makes You Beautiful?

“What makes me beautiful is my heart. It shows that I have respect and am so thankful for my mom and dad. I love to laugh, I am kind to others and I love to give hugs. I always treat others the way I want to be treated.” ~Jade L, Illinois

“It’s on the inside that counts”~ Hannah M, Tennessee

Next generation young women know the truth. Thanks to Dove, 3.9 million females are “redefining beauty in their own words." While you may have great hair or perfect skin, everyone (yes, even supermodels) has physical flaws. But these “flaws” are what make you beautiful and what make you, well, you.

One disturbing fact Dove found: Seven in ten girls believe they’re not good enough or don’t measure up in some way, including their looks, performance in school and relationships with friends and family members. (Boo!)

But that’s just one of many alarming stats discovered. So, Dove set out on the right track with their Campaign for Real Beauty. The Dove Self-Esteem Fund is working hard to instill confidence in young girls like Jade and Hannah by portraying the message that real beauty lies in our hearts and minds.

Dove’s mission: To make women feel more beautiful every day by challenging today's stereotypical view of beauty. They’re leaps and bounds ahead because they inspire women to take great care of themselves. From downloadable workbooks to quizzes to eye-opening videos, Dove provides girls and their parents helpful tools to implement a confident, positive self-perception.
