As we all know, dance competition scoring means: judges write or record comments about their likes, dislikes, and suggestions for improvement. More importantly, judges get to break the news of who finished 1st, 2nd and 3rd. Guess what?! Now your voice can be heard. Web voting is here. You’ve done it for shows like America’s Best Dance Crew. Now, a company that has been a trendsetter for years brings it to the competition scene. From their connection to Warner Brothers to their innovative helicopter ride for Miss Dance of the United States®, Sean Flanagan of USTD delivers another dance world breakthrough-starting with their Can You Keep the Rhythm event. “Today’s entertainment market is booming. We’ve capitalized on this trend and we’re going to implement web voting for our Knicks City Dance Challenge and USTD events this year. This type of voting gets dancers pumped because their talents will be presented to a much larger audience. Their performance will virtually extend far beyond the 2-3 minutes of actual stage time onto our website, and way beyond that." After the KCD Challenge, judges will vote for their top three. The floor will then open to web voting and mass audiences will have their say. They can vote as many times as they like within a specific time frame. This will happen at www.ustd.com and www.kcd.nyknicks.com. “The interactive feature provides a sense of excitement and participation for the audience, and I believe it will have a positive impact overall, on the dance competition world.” Flanagan added.
