Leading Ladies

Leading Ladies, directed and produced by Daniel Beahm and Erika Randall Beahm, is set to be one of the hottest dance flicks of 2010. Described as "an homage to Dirty Dancing with a twist," this story of the Campari family shows how everyone must reflect on their lives and learn to "Let Love Lead." Meet the star-studded cast and the characters they bring to life, brought to you exclusively by gendance. Scroll down to meet each character and go behind the scenes with them. We spaced them appropriately to give them each the spotlight they deserve. BRAVO, cast, BRAVO!

Leading Ladies

You must recognize Melanie LaPatin, World Champion Latin Ballroom dancer and SYTYCD choreographer. She plays Sheri Campari, the middle-aged, overbearing stage mom. Sheri was once successful, gorgeous, and in love, but now struggles with her weight and her relationships. Her new attitude? She doesn't need a man. Living vicariously through her daughters, Toni and Tasi, Sheri becomes intertwined in the ballroom circuit. Read her interview here.

Benji Schwimmer is the SYTYCD swing star who stole our hearts during season 2. Now on the big screen, Benji plays Cedric Michaels, Tasi's longtime dance partner. He's also managed to establish his strong male presence among the tough Campari femmes. He's like a brother to Toni and Tasi, and isn't afraid to speak his mind to Sheri. He's a confident gay man who shows Toni how to lead on the dance floor and in life. Read his interview here.

Laurel Vail is Toni (Antoinette) Campari is the older sibling, the quiet yet strong presence in the matriarchal Campari family. She keeps everyone sane, keeps herself out of the spotlight, and is there for her sister when Cedric isn't there. She falls in love with a girl named Mona, who will help her become the star of her own life. Read her interview here.

Shannon Lea Smith plays Tasi (Anastasia) Campari is the youngest (and favorite) daughter. Always the center of attention, Tasi is the local ballroom star who uses her sense of humor to handle her mother's emotional outbursts. When Tasi unexpectedly gets pregnant, she struggles to break away from her own mother and focus on being the mother she always wanted.  Read her interview here.

Nicole Dionne brings Mona Saunders to life as the girl who captures the heart of Toni Campari. She's young, she's confident and she's ready for a real relationship. She's already found her place in the world, so Toni's insecurity is foreign to her. But together, they are able to share the lead on the dance floor and in life. Read her interview here.
